Educational Day

– The Educational Day will be held in German –

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, the advanced training day of the Neurosurgical Academy in theory and practice will be held in the adjacent conference hotel "Mövenpick Hotel Messe & Congress" as part of the annual conference.

Main topics: Neurooncology & Epilepsy Surgery (incl. pediatric aspects)

Under the title NCH TO GO meets DGNC/NCA Educational Day, a "blended learning" concept was launched this year for the first time together with the free and CME certified NCH TO GO platform. Thus, so-called heads-up online trainings on the basics of the two main topics will already take place before the actual Educational Day.

Further information, including the program, can be found below.

This year's Educational Day will take place, as usual, on the opening day of the DGNC Annual Meeting, on June 25 in Stuttgart. The venue is the Mövenpick Hotel Messe & Congress, which is located in close proximity to the main venue of the annual meeting, the International Congress Center Stuttgart. We are very pleased that we have again been able to attract many well-known speakers and presenters for this important training event.

The topics of the training are on the one hand neuro-oncology and on the other hand epilepsy surgery. In two thematic blocks, 15-minute short lectures in the morning will highlight important clinical-practical aspects such as indications or the situation-related pros and cons of different techniques. In the interactive workshops with case discussions, this knowledge will then be applied and interdisciplinary treatment concepts of the two foci will be discussed based on the current state of the literature. In both foci, there will again be lectures and workshops explicitly dealing with the special features in pediatric neurosurgery.

New this year is the implementation of a "blended learning" concept, which the Neurosurgical Academy has launched together with the free and CME certified NCH TO GO platform. For the first time, so-called heads-up online training sessions on the two main topics will take place before the actual Educational Day. These will provide an overview of the basics and some current developments in the respective topics. They will therefore help to prepare for the Educational Day in the best possible way and create a common knowledge level for the specific topics, which will be elaborated and discussed in presence on the EDU-Day.

NCH TO GO platform

The goal of this integrated learning model is therefore not only to give you an overview of the current status and new developments in the respective training topics. Rather, it should help you to place the acquired expertise in the respective clinical context in order to apply it in your daily work and to further improve your own skills. Finally, the Educational Day sees itself as an impulse for a well-founded training and further education on your own initiative.
